Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Russell Howard Neal, 58, of Hattiesburg, who died on Monday, Dec. 25, in Columbia. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pastor Mike Ewoldt officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, Dec. 29, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Neal, and sister, Rebecca Neal.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 28 years, Buffie Neal of Hattiesburg; mother, Vivian Neal of Columbia; sister, Ramona Brumfield of Columbia; brother, Paul Neal of Columbia; three nephews, Douglas Neal of Sumrall, Steven Neal of Sandy Hook and Michael Brumfield of Hattiesburg, and a number of great nieces and nephews.
