Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Trilba B. Elmore, 94, of Foxworth, who died on Thursday, Feb. 1, at her residence. Burial followed in Mt. Sinai Church of God Cemetery. Bro. John Cockrell officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a life-long resident of Marion County, she was affiliated with the Marion County chapter of the Mississippi Eastern Star. She was a member of the Home Extension Service in Marion County. She loved to travel, read and take pictures. She worked for many years as a LPN at Marion General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Sally Dunaway Beard; husband, Jesse Elmore; one brother, James Beard, and three sisters, Relda Beard, Tiny Beard and Loubena Beard.
Survivors include her son, Jesse Elmore Jr. (Urma Jean) of Foxworth; daughter, Violet Elmore of Columbia; one brother, Caleb Beard (Hilda) of Foxworth; three grandchildren, Jesse Elmore III of Virginia, Matthew Elmore of Louisiana and Jessica Powers of Massachusetts; one niece, Beth McKenzie (Wade) of Foxworth, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Matthew Elmore, Jesse Elmore III, Jamie Lee, Curtis King, Terry Robinett, Steve Haddox and James Elmore.
