Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at Bunker Hill Baptist Church for Virgie Lene Farmer, 93, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, Oct. 29, in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in New Bunker Hill Cemetery. Bro. Randy Garner officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, at Bunker Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie L. and Daphane Ryals and husband, Claxton Farmer.
Survivors include her son, James Farmer (Elaine) of Columbia; two grandsons, James Darren Farmer (Jeri) of Ocean Springs and William Farron Farmer (Lisa) of Carson and two great-grandsons, Matthew Farmer of Carson and Little Man “Sport” Farmer of Ocean Springs.
Pallbearers were Rodney Robertson, Julian Robertson, Russell Nalls, Tim Buckley, James Robbins and Joe Stuckey.
