Marion County Carl Loftin Career and Technology Center’s Culinary Arts students have been studying about eggs, milk, types of cheese and breakfast foods. They began their study by preparing Vacherin or meringue clouds, using whipped egg whites. While studying the different types of milk, they prepared ice cream in a bag and served them in chocolate bowls made by dipping balloons in melted chocolate. Their study continued by identifying the different varieties of cheeses by their characteristics and listing examples of each variety. To help with this study, they prepared a charcuterie, or cheese board. They added a spin to their board by incorporating a Halloween theme.
