PRVEPA to bring faster internet

Chairman Dane Maxwell of the Mississippi Public Service Commission, Southern District, announced Monday that PearlComm LLC, a Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association subsidiary, is receiving $25.7 million to help deliver faster internet to its 51,000 members in its 12-county district.

Paving and promotions discussed at city meeting

It was business as usual Tuesday night at the Columbia city board meeting, even though it was also municipal election night.

Despite pandemic, Watts shines

As Hannah Watts’ year as Marion County Distinguished Young Woman comes to an end, she did not allow the pandemic to ruin her year, but instead used it to her advantage and thrived.
“It has been a great year because a lot of the things I have been able to do I couldn’t do in a normal year of DYW,” Watts said.
