The bus stops here to make summer better with books

The 100 Days of Reading Bus Tour normally does not make it this far south. This year, it made stops in Clarksdale and Columbia in efforts to help children make up losses after more than two years of learning disruptions due to Covid.

City awarded for public safety excellence

For the third time, the City of Columbia has earned the Mississippi Municipal League's Municipal Excellence Award for Public Safety for a city with a population under 10,000.
The city applied for the award for its special care project that assists residents with special needs, the elderly and shut-ins.
