Man gets 20 years in armed robbery, shooting

A Foxworth man will serve 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a shooting and armed robbery in two separate incidents from 2018.

Circuit Judge Prentiss Harrell handed down the sentences Sept. 19 to Antonio Deante White, 28, 87 Water Valley Road, according to court documents.

Proposal would allow local gas taxes

Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann unveiled a plan last week that would allow counties to implement a 2-cent to 6 -cent gas tax exclusively for local roads and bridges.

The Board of Supervisors would have to vote to put the issue on the ballot and then county voters would decide on it.
