Donna Stringer, vice president for Trustmark Bank, located on Broad Street in Columbia, visited the Work Based Learning class at the Marion County Career Center on Dec.12, 2022.
Stringer spoke with students about banking careers and shared her long history of 40 years in the banking industry. Students were actively engaged as she showed them how the bank does inkless fingerprinting for identification purposes. She also brought multiple denominations of money and showed them how to locate the magnetic strip for authenticity of the bills. A marking pen was used to show students how marking the bills can help detect counterfeit money. She brought a sample safe deposit box to show students the smallest size available and discussed procedures, policies and costs associated with safe deposit boxes. Banking and financial responsibility are vital for student success, and she explained how good credit and being financial responsible go hand in hand.
Kiely McCain, Brooklyn Hibley and Justen Stringer show off their inkless fingerprinting ID.
