Barrett’s Garden Center on the east side of town has been a Columbia institution for years, and for good reason.
Whether you need a plant in the spring or summertime, a Christmas tree for the holidays or yard decorations and other home needs, Barrett’s is the place to go. Depending on the time of year you visit Barrett’s, there’s a good chance you’ll see completely different offerings in the East Columbia store than you did during a previous visit.
“I love the pleasure people get when they come in and find a new product that they haven’t seen before,” Tracie Raybourn, who bought Barrett’s 13 years ago, said.
Once Christmas comes around, there’s nothing quite like a real Christmas tree to put in your living room to kickstart the festivities. For the store’s Christmas trees, which are grown on-site, Raybourn orders them in January. The saplings arrive in March and April, and they plant them and treat them over the coming months until the trees are grown and ready for purchase by the holiday season. They also grow their own ferns, while most found in stores come from Florida.
With a vast selection of ribbons, wreaths, plants and any other type of home decoration, Barrett’s can accommodate just about any desire you have. Raybourn is a landscaper herself, so she can help in more ways than one.
Located at 127 Old Hwy 98 E., visit Barrett’s Garden Center for your bridal registry, anniversary registry, birthday registry or Christmas registry – along with other everyday great items.
