Columbian home owner
Actually the title is mostly a misnomer, since I first have to pay approximately 3x current value to a yet to be named financial institution.
Be that as it may, I am now a Mississippian (at least on paper)! One of the things I love about living here is to go outside in the middle of the night and to hear only the sound of our own breathing, which leads us perhaps, in our thinking, to considering life. Our life, our collective lives, which may in turn, point us to The author, creator and sustainer of life, even Christ!
What I feel in the deep of the night, though is a sense of a prevailing peace. There are more (per capita) folks in this area who are the true, the faithful lovers of our Lord Jesus, which is the impetus for such peace. Not that we should exalt ourselves, but rather in all humility we would thank and praise God for the goodness of His grace. There are yet battles to be fought, for at any given time (though peace prevales), in homes throughout our neighborhoods, there is abuse occurring; spousal confrontations, child abuse in it's myriad forms, abuse of the elderly and disabled.
We absolutely must be lifting up both victims and abusers. Comfort and endurance of strength for one group, and conviction and repentance for the remaining.
Without our resolve to seek God, our peace, in sincerity, cannot possibly be complete, can it?
