McMurry gives safety tips to businesses prior to holidays

Volunteer fire departments request funding from board

Members of the Marion County Fire Services went before the Marion County Board of Supervisors Monday with a list of requested funding and needs with a 2021 Covid Relief funding request, but they were once again met with silence by the supervisors.

CPD socks it to the war on drugs

While serving a warrant at Northwood Villa Apartments Monday, the Columbia Police Department stumbled upon a drug stash as School Resource Officer Sgt. Dave Burns looked up and saw a part of the eave of the building was loose. He reached up, pulled it and found a sock filled with 42 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and scales.
