VFW donates to food pantry

The new housing unit for inmates who are working on crews for the county and state was built from the ground up by the offenders themselves with excess revenue made by the prison. There was no cost to the taxpayers. Inmates build new housing from ground up

A small ribbon cutting ceremony was held Sept. 14 at the Marion County Jail to recognize the offenders who built anew residence building, called the Joint County Inmate Building, for minimum security joint county state offenders.

Miciello named National Merit Semifinalist

Columbia High School senior Luke Miciello has been named a National Merit Semifinalist, a huge honor as those who are named semifinalists are the top 1% of scorers on the PSAT. More than 4.5 million high school juniors take the test each year.
