Supervisors approve radios for volunteer fire departments

The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved a request by the Marion County Fire Service on Oct. 6 for $295,062 to purchase radios, chargers and mobiles that will allow the local volunteer fire departments to be on the same network as most departments in the state.

Hobgood pleads guilty to second-degree murder

Christopher Derrick Hobgood pled guilty Monday to second-degree murder in front of Fifteenth Circuit Court Judge Anthony Mozingo for the death of James Thurman Hall, Jr. Mozingo will sentence Hobgood on Oct. 21.
